We are currently recruiting boxing and martial arts performers of all levels, from total beginners to the experienced elite.

The research project is to enhance striking performance through technique analysis. Testing will be carried out at the Research Institute of Sport and Exercise Science (RISES) in Liverpool with a fully equipped gym and biomechanics lab.

This is a free service jointly funded by Liverpool John Moores University and the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. By volunteering you will be given feedback on how hard you can hit and how fast you can move which will then be compared to the other volunteers and past results from high profile professionals and Olympic competitors.

With 5* research facilities and first class bespoke training equipment, RISES has specialists in collision mechanics and sports science support. We offer the latest technology to capture motion and record force in boxing, kickboxing and all striking martial art techniques.

The centre is open for all on Monday - Thurs, 08:00 - 20:00 and Friday 08:00 - 16:30. Please contact Barry for more information on how to book a session.
