history eh...ok

just to break it down to pedigree brazilian jiu-jitsu i'll fast forward through training with a bunch of homemade crap bastards that set up schools on the back of the success of the ufc...and the judo i learned as a kid and strangely enough the stuff i learned from watching vids that i could actually make work in my occasional drunken fights on the way home from the piss...

to the pedigree stuff

1999...i want to learn gracie jiu-jitsu from the proper real blokes so when royce turns up in england to host a bunch of seminars i jump on a train and go and take em in...it would be rude not to...fifty pund a day for 2 days turns out worth it

2000...royce is back in the uk so i might as well shell out again and go and learn some more of the good @#%$...and it really is...i become very interested...later that year i went out across to australia and checked out some of the bjj schools there and then spent 2 months in america at the old gracie academy which turns out to be gold dust...this is the instruction i have been looking for

2001...back to america and another couple of months with the gracies...renzos in new york...and rorions in torrance...i also check out bob bass in south bay and a bit of dog brothers stick grappling...interesting

2002...2 weeks at the gracie academy cos i love it

2003...back in america and another months intensive training with rener and ryron gracie

boo...got my shoulder broken

2005...back at the academy learing some great stuff but after a while my arm kinda keeps getting pulled out of it's socket...it needs to be repaired...bastards

for the next few years i had to make do with local judo training and odd couple of days jiu-jitsu sessions during my visits to america...but i do get a lot of boxing done and my arm is back to life

2007...just got home from a visit to the brand new gracie academy...spent 10 day out there learning some of the new @#%$...class...

in my area of the uk it is very hard to find quality brazilian jiu-jitsu...i am very very lucky to actually be able to learn from the blokes that invented it.
