A while back, Ian from the Manchester GB club passed on his method of dealing with his asthma, and since I'd suffered from hay-fever for well over twenty years (and only in Europe), I was curious.
to cut a long story short, I've been following buteyko for the last two months, and so far I'm not feeling any of the affects of hay-fever at all. I can now swim 25 meters under water without gasping for air when I come up. And it's helped me relax more when I fight, though on several occasions I just haven't been able to just breath through my nose.
For those who suffer from either asthma or hay-fever and grapple you may want to look closely at the following article. I personally never found an instructor because I felt the article basically tells you everything you need to know, but if I drop dead a few months later, then you'll understand why I'm not guaranteeing any results.

in brief, you need to follow four rules:
1. tape your mouth up at night (start with gaps if you feel stressed about it, and make sure you do the exercises before, which will clear your nasal passages)
2. Sleep on your left side (so the heart relaxes and therefore needs less oxygen)
3. do the exercises (I only do the control pause ones 6 to ten sets)
4. Try to only breath through your nose (difficult when your being smothered by a 16 stone monster, You know who you are!
