			<description><![CDATA[ ....the more I learn about takedowns and groundwork, the less effective I see base stand up arts being.<br><br>After 2 years boxing and 7 years Thai, I thought that I had the tools to do well in a confrontation......but my persepective is changing. I still believe punches (elbows...?) and knees to be usful tools, however, I see kicking becoming more and more redundant and harder to use in MMA.<br><br>I just wondered if anyone has really tried to develop striking to be effective in MMA......or... ]]></description>
